La decisi\u00f3n fue informada por la titular de la dependencia, Alicia B\u00e1rcena, luego de semanas de cr\u00edticas por parte de comunidades locales, colectivos ambientalistas y especialistas que advirtieron riesgos ecol\u00f3gicos en la zona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El megaproyecto contemplaba desarrollarse sobre 90 hect\u00e1reas de selva y requer\u00eda obras con posibles afectaciones a manglares, arrecifes, acu\u00edferos y ecosistemas costeros. Ambientalistas denunciaron que las actividades previstas amenazaban especies en peligro y el sistema k\u00e1rstico de la regi\u00f3n. Aunque la empresa buscaba desistirse formalmente del plan, Semarnat confirm\u00f3 que la autorizaci\u00f3n ambiental no ser\u00e1 concedida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Royal Caribbean hab\u00eda anunciado una inversi\u00f3n inicial de 600 millones de d\u00f3lares y proyectaba iniciar operaciones en 2027.
